Upcoming Testing Dates

As a reminder, Friday, February 28 is our third and final Horizon Benchmark test of the school year. This test is required for freshmen, sophomores, and juniors as it helps prepare them for the PSAT 8/9, PSAT 10, and the SAT.  The Horizon Benchmark assessments are directly aligned with and closely mimic these standardized tests, providing students with valuable practice and insight.

Why is the Horizon Benchmark Important?
This Horizon Benchmark test is a key part of our academic programming.  It not only prepares students for standardized exams but also provides essential data for both students and teachers.

  • For students, it highlights strengths and areas of improvement, enabling them to track their progress and better prepare for future college-readiness exams.
  • For teachers, the data supports targeted instruction and personalized feedback, ensuring that every student gets the help they need to excel.

Overall, the data gleaned from the assessment is a powerful tool for monitoring and supporting student growth and aligning instruction to ensure all students are on a path toward academic success and, ultimately, college and career readiness.

Attendance & Participation
There is no option to opt out, and attendance will be taken on testing days. Students who are absent will need to make up the test when they return.

Seniors will have an asynchronous assignment on benchmark days. To be marked present, seniors must complete the Google attendance form, which will be sent to their email the morning of February 28th. The form will also be available under the “Student” tab on our website.
